During the Six Brown Chicks taping of “Iyanla Fix My Life,” I said that “Sometimes it all has to fall apart before it can be put back together,” and I’d like to take a moment to explain how this applies to everyday life, hopes and dreams.
We as individuals move about life wishing, hoping and praying that the things that we want, need or desire just fall into our laps, without so much as a reason or an understanding of the process.
Everything that we go through, every person that enters into our lives is there for a reason, season, and lesson and/or for a lifetime. This is part of the process! You see on our journey of asking for a thing we don’t always know what’s involved in having the thing!
We are unaware of all the movable parts needed in order to make that thing work. Behind the scenes the process is happening. People, places and things must be strategically moved either around, out of your life or introduced into your life in order to put the very thing that you asked for together.
Here are some examples of “Sometimes it ALL Has to Fall Apart Before It Can Be Put Back Together”
- Sometimes your heart is broken so that in the process you are able to see what a good man or woman for you looks and feels like, however, you wouldn’t know the experience of a good man or woman if you’ve never had your heart broken.
- Sometimes you will lose all material possessions in order to gain peace of mind.
- Sometimes you are broken so that you fully understand and appreciate what courage, confidence and self-worth feels like.
- Sometimes you will be brought to your knees, stripped and humbled so that you can learn what it means to give.
There are times where you will lose everything in order to find your purpose.
There will come a time where you will gain, but only when you lose.
Don’t despise the process; it’s not even our job to figure IT out. It’s all part of the process, it is not designed to break us and leave us, it is however our job to EMBRACE the reason, ENJOY the season, LEARN the lesson in the process. This is our truth moment, when we realize what faith, trust, understanding and believing in something greater than ourselves steps in to let us know that we have no control, and we had no control from day one. So just remember that sometimes it ALL has to fall apart before it can be put back together and continue to serve something or someone greater than self.
