Gourmet Italian for $3 a Plate?

Gourmet Italian for $3 a Plate?
Yes please!!! – I’ll take 4!

Okay….if you haven’t already heard about this amazing deal, read on!  Bravo Cucina Italiana is now offering “Bar Bites” for $2.95 each from 3-7 PM, Monday through Friday and 9PM to close.
Bravo is already one of my favorite places to eat, because it’s delicious and also half a block from my apartment.  It’s a great place for a date, since it’s decorated fancy “Roman Italian” style, has delicious food and is right next to Evanston’s Century Theaters.

The Bar Bites options are Bruschetta with Mushrooms and Boursin, Crispy Shrimp Napoli, Artichoke and Spinach Formaggio, Meatball Sliders and Fries, Cheese Ravioli Al Forno, Chicken, Bacon and Spinach Flatbread, Flatbread Roma, Pepperoni Flatbread and Balsamic Onion, Portobello & Gorgonzola Flatbread.
Well my husband and I went over to Bravo to check it out….and we arrived at 5 PM and grabbed a seat at the bar.  We ordered a beer and a martini, although, currently you don’t technically have to order a drink (unlike McCormick & Schmick’s) to get the Bar Bites deals.
We ordered the Crispy Shrimp Napoli, Balsamic Onion, Portobello & Gorgonzola Flatbread,   Chicken, Bacon and Spinach Flatbread and Cheese Ravioli Al Forno.  We realized as soon as it arrived, that we ordered WAY too much!  You could eat one or share two  – so there you go….a cheap AND delicious meal for $3-6!
The Crispy Shrimp Napoli is $2.95….and comes with 10 shrimp!  The regular appetizer portion  (at the table) comes with 12 and costs $10!  The shrimp is definitely one of the best deals and is SO tasty!  We loved all our dishes and I am certain we will get the Ravioli again…drizzled with Alfredo Sauce and Pesto!
My husband’s favorite was the Chicken, Bacon and Spinach Flatbread.  Each Flatbread has 8 pieces, and can easily be eaten as a meal or shared.  We recommended it to a few people sitting at the bar as well!  Also many people were ordering the Meatball Slider that comes with two Meatball Slider Sandwichese and Tuscan Fries, and again for only $2.95!  It’s a GREAT deal and one dish can easily be a meal!  I broke one of my eating out rules and ordered a martini since our total bill was only $12.00….we spend more at Chipotle!
While we were dining, before we knew it…the bar area was PACKED.  It was standing room only!  People were ordering drinks and chowing down on $3 delicious bites….so I have to say BRAVO!  to BRAVO!  because you know how to please a frugal girl with delicious and affordable Italian food!
