Nyarko Injury Apparently Not Serious

Good news on the Patrick Nyarko injury situation.

The extent of the injury is apparently just a bad bruise and he was able to resume training this morning.  Nyarko expects to be available for the Thursday night match in Portland.

The team is en route to Portland to resume training tomorrow.

  • That's a huge relief. I was afraid that Nyarko would be out for a long, long time.

"The Power Rankings committee is starting to believe in this Fire crew, especially with the way they attacked in the second half at Seattle. The tying goal never came, but only a vintage Kasey Keller performance was the reason. Gast

For all the stick that Klopas and DLC have gotten, and deserved over the last 2 years, they've found high quality players in Chaves, Puerari and Mikulic. We may also soon get a chance to see what Conway brings.

  • In reply to fire1020:

Johnson will probably have to get into a major rut before we see Conway for any period of time.

  • In reply to cesba:

if he keeps playing like he has ever since his USMNT stint, conway will definately get a shot.

SJ was shaky in pre-season, and has been shaky so far this regular season. dykstra caught hell last season for playing about the same

  • In reply to CountChocula:

Ooooooh, that's a stinger CC, but may be a good point if the trend continues over the next 2-3 games. Johnson playing this way over the course of a few games I'll take.

  • In reply to DFBJeff:

well SJ is still the best option IMO, but he needs a kick in the pants about now

Anybody else notice that it is RUMORED by Marca, a Spanish sports daily newspaper, that Atletico de Madrid is looking to build alliances in the United States, and the Fire was listed as one of possible teams. We've seen how these alliances can have no impact on a team (hello Morelia), but it's likely the only time all year that the Fire will grace the pages of Marca.

  • In reply to Fuegofan:

Well San Jose got a player from Spurs this year and so far he has 2 goals.. But i think the spanish link is weird since i think MLS would be a better primer for the more physical French or English leagues.. not sure its great for Spain or Italy

  • In reply to Fuegofan:

yet another step closer to landing Diego Forlan.....

  • In reply to fire1020:

    Mike Jeffries.
