According to this Israeli report, Wilman Conde will travel to Israel next week to trial with Maccabi Haifa FC. Conde is likely to explore every option in search of the best deal possible since he is out of contract after the season. It’s likely that his performance this season hasn’t produced the offers he was looking to receive so I’d expect he’ll continue to look as long as he can.
The Fire have made a respectable offer and shouldn’t wait too long for a decision from Conde. Since center back will be a position of need in 2011, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Fire throw down with a deadline considering the offer has been on the table for some time now.
It’s going to be an interesting offseason.

The Fire needs to step it up this offseason. Keeping Conde should be a priority. We also need a viable threat at striker.
For example, Wayne Rooney. (I'm just sayin')
lol....his brother is probably still available.
I believe they have offered him a maximum non DP salary so the ball is in his court
As I've mentioned elsewhere -- Conde is a hopeless headcase. Betting on his recovery of form is dangerous because it delays the search for a replacement. He's been playing games since Orsorio left. He was an all-star when he had Soumare and Segares at his sides. I'm hoping that he likes Israel and vice-versa. Then let the search begin.
Conde was an All-Star this year, without Soumare or Segares at his sides.
Conde had no business being on the all-star team this year.
But he was.
Just in time to get beat for a couple of Man U goals ;)
hahah yeah.. but hey its just MANCHESTER UNITED right?.. not like they are good or anything :)
Sorry to change the subject, but does anyone know what's going on with Klopas' soccer bar, "The Pitch"?
I made a special trip down there today to have lunch and check out some Champions League and the place was closed and locked at 1:45pm!
Their website had the CL games listed as "events" and the place normally opens at 11, apparently.
I hope it isn't closed for good as it looked pretty promising. Anyone know what's going on?
On the subject of Champions League let-downs, a wag of the finger to Comcast SportsNet for interrupting the Arsenal game yesterday for the Cubs press conference where they announced they weren't hiring a new manager.
I think they have new Fall hours. During the week they open at 5 pm and weekends at 10 am.
If they let Conde escape to Israel, will the Fire get any anything return?
He's out of contract and free to sign with anyone outside of MLS in 2011.
typo....Will the Fire get anything in return? I hope this won't be a Chris Rolfe type situation which they got nothing in return for him.
they've made a pretty good offer so it's up to Conde. He can't play anywhere until January though.
Let him go and sign Demerit for that amount!
I wouldn't have a problem with that but they'd have to trade for his allocation rights with Vancouver.
Conde can be good when he wants to be as he has shown.
He has also cost us games intentianally or do to his rekless carlessness at times. We dont need that.
We need someone who can be counted upon on a consistant basis.
I feel the fire should start searching for a good replacement and
wish Conde well with another team.
