The Cubs need some help
Maybe you can provide it
If you have the voice
Are you good enough?
Do you have the pipes to be
The Cubs have posted a new job opening, which they’re calling the “
Chicago Cubs Dream Job.” The Tribune reports that,
according to a Cubs release, candidates must “be comfortable announcing to sold-out crowds and proficient at enunciating complex player names.” But the requirements included in the
job posting say that candidates should have the “ability to speak extemporaneously to large crowds”.
I thought perhaps the original press release was written last week, and the job listing was modified after
tickets went on sale last Friday and
only a handful of games were sold old. But when I clicked on “
Scripts“, number 3 includes “… If you think you have the voice to captivate 42,000 fans … ” The careerbuilder.com job listing also says that candidates “must be available for … play-off games.”
There must be lots of optimists in the Cubs personnel department.
But it does sound like a “Dream Job” for any Cubs fan who has the talent and can be available for all the home games and other required events. If that sounds like you, then be sure to
fill out an application. The deadline is March 7th.
