On Wednesday, the Cubs and Jesse White – a former Cubs minor leaguer and currently the Illinois Secretary of State – announced the sale of Chicago Cubs specialty license plates. The Cubs are the second professional sports team to provide this option for their fans – Chicago Blackhawks plates went on sale last year.
By purchasing these plates you won’t be providing funds for any planned Wrigley Field renovations or to improve the product on the field. But you’ll be showing your loyalty while supporting education in Illinois. Proceeds from sales of these plates will support public schools throughout the state.
I went for “HAIKU”
It just had to be that one
Or no plate at all
It cetainly cost more than I should have spent, but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get a Cubs Haiku license plate. I suppose there are worse ways to spend all of the quartersdimes nickels I’ve earned writing Cubs haiku for the past several years!
If you’re interested in purchasing the new Cubs specialty plates for your vehicle, visit the Secretary of State’s “Cyberdrive Illinois” website.
