It’s time to dust off those leotards and ballet shoes that are shoved into the back of your drawer. There’s a new ballet studio in town. Though my formal dance training days ended years (ok, decades) ago, I have to admit I’m feeling the pull of the studio: the barres, the mirrors, soothing classical music. And, the aching sore muscles.
Jeté on over to the Plainfield Dance Academy.
Yes, there are classes for all ages, including “mommy & me”. They also offer jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, as well as separate boys classes.
It’s rare, though, to find a studio in the suburbs that offers adult classes while the kids are in school. Finally!
Recently opened by husband & wife, Corrine & Askar Alimbetov, with a world of training and experience behind them. Literally. They have both trained and performed around the world: Europe, China, Russia, and the US.
If you’re looking for solid training for your child, or a great workout for yourself, check out their schedule. Or, swing by for a look at their studio.
I’m certain by the end of class I’ll have difficulty standing up after another plié, but it’ll be fun trying!
Need new dance attire? Don’t forget about Allegro.
Who’s joining me for class?
