The small businesses in Oswego are well aware of the crowds that the Country Market brings to town. That’s why many of the shops that are normally closed on Sundays are open during the market season. So, if you wake up early to get first pick of produce (or croissants!), you can get a cup of joe at The Village Grind coffee and tea co.
Forget Starbucks and other chains, The Village Grind brings charm back to coffee shops.
Chances are, if you grab your morning coffee before the market, you’ll be back again afterwards. Perhaps for a different flavor, a fresh baked pastry, or a scoop of gelato, but probably just to sit and be cozy for awhile.
Though you will see a few people working on laptops, The Village Grind calls for afternoon chats with friends or settling in with a good book.
Getting hungry? How about some oatmeal or a sandwich?
The young girls working this past Sunday were helpful and friendly, even with the continuous stream of customers filing in.
Apparently their popularity has brought a second location in Yorkville, but I haven’t visited that location…yet!
