Shop Small Day 184: Tangerine

Maybe you’re heading to the Dells, or maybe further north into Wisconsin. Either way, you make it past Madison and realize “crap, I forgot my probiotics and holistic health care.” Think you’re S.O.L? Nope! Take a quick detour to historic Portage and stop by Tangerine.

Only 20 miles from the Dells, Tangerine is a small shop big on health care: vitamins, organic groceries, gluten-free goods, and local grass-fed meats.

Owner Elle Lohr is also a reiki master and in the process of adding a wellness center to the shop for reiki treatments.

Portage itself is a cute little town (there’s even an old-fashioned A&W with carhops!), but Tangerine was a surprise find.

imageI was happy to pick up a new bottle of Dr. Singha’s Mustard Rub. If you don’t have this in your home, call and order a bottle! Sore muscles? Achy flu? Cough & cold? Add a few drops to a warm bath and you’re better the next day. It takes us a couple of years to go through the bottle, but I always like to keep it on hand.

Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your natural health care. Nor do you have to spring for overnight shipping when you can’t miss a few days of supplements while you’re away.

Head over to Tangerine and Elle will keep your health on track!
