After a long weekend of burgers and watermelon, it’s time for something different. They’ve been in business since 1986 and I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t try them until about 5 years ago. I’ve certainly made up for lost time since then because when I want comfort food, we head to The Bavarian Lodge!
Incredible food and, just as you’d expect, an extensive beer menu.
Want your own beer stein? You can pick that up too!
Sure, they have a great beer menu, but how’s the food?
The bread dumplings are just as perfect as my mom makes.
New to German fare? Here are some of our other family favorites:
cheddar ale soup, Wiener schnitzel, cheese pierogi, and the Braumeister’s Platter. Make sure you order the bread dumplings too. Even though you’ll be too full for dessert, don’t skip it!
I know, now you’re hungry and ready to rush out to The Bavarian Lodge, but you’re going to have to wait! They close for two weeks every summer, so they don’t reopen until July 17th.
Not surprising, it does get crowded, so expect a bit of a wait. Parking can be a little tricky, but after an extra bread dumpling (or three) you may welcome a little walk!
Yes, I know I’m a few days behind. Don’t worry, we’ll still hit all 365.
