Day 94: Lockport St. Gallery

I am embarrassed to say that I have lived in this town for almost eleven years and I had never been in this store. Maybe I was nervous because I’m slightly a bull in a china shop and the whole store is fragile! This is not the store to bring your young kids; it is, however, a shop to find great one-of-a-kind gifts.
The Lockport Street Gallery is an eclectic mix of artists’ works: jewelry, glass figurines, paintings, sculptures, lamps, essentially every artistic medium.

Although I wasn’t familiar with any of the artists, it would be quite easy to become followers of many of them. I really liked the watches by Watchcraft, the Flambeaux pottery, and these really beautiful glass pen holders (reminded me of old glass fountain pens).  imageimage

Owners John & Chere Bates have owned Lockport St. Gallery for 17 years, and have amassed a wonderful collection of art by (predominately) American artists. If you have a particular artist you follow, check out their website, their name is probably listed. Looking for a unique gift? Visit their store. Everything is handmade, so no two items are exactly alike. Don’t need to buy anything? Visit anyway, just to admire some beautiful talent.

What do you collect?
