Since we’re finally getting a break in the weather, take a drive to the city for one of my favorite bakeries. Several readers have recommended it as one of their favorites too. So, if you haven’t been there, it’s time to try Sweet Mandy B’s!
Probably best known for their cupcakes, I can also confirm that everything there is delicious! I’m usually not a fan of store-bought cookies (including those from a bakery), but Sweet Mandy B’s is the exception: their Snickerdoodles and peanut butter cookies taste just like they came out of mom’s oven.
Can’t decide between a cookie and a cupcake? You could compromise…
Going for the cupcake? Good luck choosing a flavor! Banana Nutella or Orange Creamsicle anyone? How about French Toast or Peanut Butter & Jelly? There’s also at least one gluten-free option every day. I actually like the frosting on those even better than the regular cupcakes!
Cindy’s Sweet Mandy B’s has been a city favorite since 2002 (named for her kids Mandy & Brian, in case you’re wondering). As you can imagine, it can get pretty crowded. In a hurry? Call ahead to place your order.
Also worth noting, they offer kid’s classes if your budding pastry chef is eager to bake their own treats. Two age groups are offered.
My daughter’s city lacrosse games means more trips to Sweet Mandy B’s for me!
