Sex in the Second City

The Chicago Tribune asks, “Are Funny Women Intimidating?” with interviews with some great female improvisers.

Now, I had originally written the previous sentence without the word “female”, but I added it because that’s pretty much how the article views the people in the story. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a great article; I love it when improv is treated well and the writer, Kevin Pang, did a great job interviewing some of our best players. The piece is not on whether or not women are funny, but is rather on the idea that men might not date funny (or at least, funnier than they are) women. It’s something I never really thought about.
