Twas the Friday Before Election Day...

Twas the Friday before Election Day, when all through the nation
Politicians were rambling on the local TV station.
The ballots were printed, organized with care,
In hopes that voters would soon show up there.

The Democrats were restless, their hearts full of dread
While visions of Romney danced in their head.
Paul Ryan in his cutoffs, and I in my hat,
Had just cast our votes to cut government fat.

When on MSNBC there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my couch to see what’s the matter.
On the screen I saw chaos with screaming and yelling
Maddow and Matthews had invaded my dwelling.

I rushed for the remote as fast as I could
This liberal banter was anything but good.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Greta Van Susteren with a face full of cheer.

She spoke with Ann Coulter, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment she was one feisty chick.
The election now imminent and their efforts ablaze
They urged all voters to change their past ways

“Now Boehner! now, Cantor! now, Romney and Ryan!
Defeat, Pelosi, Reid,  Obama and Biden!
To the top of the polls! To Capitol Hill!
into the Dakotas to drill baby drill!”

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the news
The liberals whining and changing their views
What once was a campaign based on hope and change
Was now a blame game based on the weird and strange

Big Bird, abortions and amnesty too?
Where is the plan to bring jobs to you?
For the economy, its Romney’s five point plan
While Obama¬† could only mutter “yes I still can”

With just 4 days left and the election near
Obama is running a campaign of fear
Elderly will die and women be oppressed?
Unless you choose Obama above the rest?

There is now an alternative who is not at all scary
He’s a businessman and governor ready to replace Barry
The economy will grow while the tax code’s reformed
Obamacare will die while Medicare’s transformed

In just a few days there will be a new chief
for a nation divided, turning over a new leaf
Only these words will remain post-fight
“God Bless America and to all a good-night!”
