Top 5 Chicago Christmas 2015 Activities for Families This Weekend

IMG_5272With mild weather on the way, this is the perfect weekend to get out and enjoy some Chicago Family Christmas 2015 activities. Chicago Christmas 2015 is sure to be a memorable one with these fun activities to provide Christmas cheer for families and kids of all ages.

Here are the top 5 Christmas festivities around Chicagoland this weekend:

Cantigny Lego Train Show: Don’t let the name fool you, this show is much more than trains! Stop by and see intricate Lego creations that will amaze even non-Lego fans. This year a Lego model of the USS Missouri is also on display in the First Division Museum. Entrance to the event is free with parking at Cantigny, which runs $5 a car. If you bring a toy to donate to Toys for Tots, they will waive the parking fee. Show runs this Saturday & Sunday only from 9 am- 4pm. For more details:

Bass Pro Shops Winter Wonderland: Head out to the Bass Pro Shop to get a free photo with Santa and to enjoy their annual Winter Wonderland. There is a foam toy arcade, train sets, a laser arcade and free crafts for the kids to enjoy. An extra nice feature is you can sign up for a Santa pass, where you get assigned a time to see Santa and can skip standing in the line that gets fairly long. Christmas Memories House Tour, Kline Creek Farm: Kline Creek Farm always has fun activities going on, and for the Christmas season you can visit the historic farm house all decked out for the holidays. Admission is free and tours run hourly between 10 am- 4 pm. For more information:

Holiday Express at Blackberry Farm: Blackberry Farm in Aurora has decorated their classic train as the Holiday Express. For $5 a person, you can enjoy a train ride and the holiday festivities. Festivities include storytellers, hay wagon rides, Santa and Candy Cane Village. Open Friday-Sunday until the 20th from 5-8pm on Fridays and 2-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. For more information:

Adventure to Santa 2015, Oakbrook Center: This one is a bit pricey, but your family can join Shrek and friends on an adventure to meet Santa. For $40 a party of up to 5 people get an elf guided visit to Santa’s house, a visit with Santa, a small pack of printed photos and a keepsake boarding pass. Compared to the free visit with Santa at Bass Pro Shop, this is pretty pricey, but Bass Pro Shop does not have to pay licensing fees for Shrek either. For more information:
