Adam Dunn was not of any particular use on a baseball field in 2011, Jose Valverde went the entire regular season without blowing a single save. I suppose the most emphatic reversal of those results would be Dunn hitting a massive 450+ ft home run off of Valverde to give his team the lead. And so it happened.
Dunn may not be anyone’s ideal hitter in a clutch situation due to the lack of contact, but when he succeeds, he knows how to put a few exclamation marks at the end.
The blast was so impressive that it coaxed a fun tidbit from Tim McCarver, who noted that the ball landed too far into the stands to be thrown back with one effort.
