Stealing isn’t noted for the spiritual satisfaction it provides in other areas of life, but in sports, and with victories, there’s hardly anything better.
The White Sox had been unable to get the big hit to capitalize off of all the baserunners they got on Ivan Nova all game, so when they were spared the task of facing Rafael Soriano in the 9th, Dayan Viciedo compensated for all the missed opportunities in one swing–a huge tomahawk cut to launch a high fastball into the left field seats.
It would have been a shame to waste Dylan Axelrod’s best outing ever in Yankee Stadium anyway
