This one is for all of the amateur home canners out there like me! My canning prowess is limited. I make tasty pickles and my family humors me by eating my homemade raspberry jam. But every August, I have a desire to take my canning to the next level by trying some new recipes or working with a new kind of produce.
This weekend, I am making it happen! Today, Jarden Home Brands is hosting the first ever International Can-It-Forward Day. This is a day dedicated to celebrate home canning. If you want to learn more about the process of home canning, you can check out the live webcast, watch canning demos (online or in person) or take advantage of other canning recipes and resources offered on the website.
Or do what I am doing. I am going to head to the farmer’s market this weekend and look for new canning inspiration in the local, seasonal fruits and veggies. And I am going to experiment with a new canning recipe using these gorgeous new green jars. Aren’t they beauties? If you’ve been thinking about trying your hand at home canning, I encourage you to do the same!
