In light of the fact that you are going to spend the majority of your day eating and sitting on the couch, it just makes sense to get out and do something active on Thanksgiving morning. Bring your whole brood out to the 32nd Annual Turkey Trot 8K Run and Walk or the Plymouth Rock Ramble
for kids presented by Fleet Feet Sports. The races take place at 9:00 am on Thursday, November 26th on Cannon Drive in Lincoln Park.
This event has something for everyone. Adults can participate in the 8k Run or Walk. The kiddos can join in the Plymouth Rock Ramble where different age groups take a loop around the running path. Bring grandma and grandpa along to cheer the runners on. Everyone can get a little bit of exercise and fresh air before the mashed potato coma sets in.
Most importantly, this event benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Participants and spectators are
encouraged to bring canned goods to help feed hungry Chicagoans. Food donations are particularly important this year because demand is way up at local food banks.
Race registration is available online and
fees start at $30 for adults and $12 for children between the ages of 2
and 14. Registration will also be available between 7am and 8:45am on
race day. Race day registration fees are payable by cash only and are
$35 for adults and $15 for children. For more information, and to
register, please visit www.caprievents.com.
