Tofu is a soybean product made from soymilk coagulation. It is high in protein, low-calorie, nutrient-rich and both vegan and vegetarian. Tofu can reduce cholesterol and is a great source of iron, calcium and omega-3 fatty acids.
The flavor of tofu is quite bland, however tofu absorbs the flavor of the vegetables and the spices it is cooked with. There are many ways to cook the protein such as bake, sear, dice or crumble. Here are a few recipes to enjoy tofu at it’s best.
