It is only $9.99 a month (and first month is free) which is less than the price of one CD and I have access to basically all the music out there (except Taylor Swift).
Spotify streams millions of songs to your computer or phone. You can listen to complete albums and artists and make your own playlists. Plus there are also fabulous ready made long playlists. Pretty awesome if you ask me.
Here are a few of my favorite playlists that Spotify created that I am now following and loving.
The Yoga Lounge: Ashatanga Acoustics – There are a bunch of yoga playlists, but this isn’t too spa-like and includes Iron & Wine and David Gray.
Dinner with Friends– Despite the title, I think this would be a nice accompaniment to our normal family dinner routine.
Family Road Trip- Every song that you and your children will agree on is on this list. Featuring favorites like Culture Club, Sonny & Cher and Johnny Cash
Sing Along – I debated sharing this one as it could get slightly annoying, but I thought it would be good to keep in my back pocket.
Indie Brunch – Different, Fun, Mellow includes Yo La Tengo, Vance Joy and Broods.
200 Greatest Songs of Rock and Roll – One song after another is a favorite whether it is Bob Dylan, David Bowie or The Who.
I could have kept going through the playlists and I can see how this could be a huge time suck. I also need to figure out how to make my own playlists. Despite lots to learn, I think I am hooked and sold. I will always ask myself why was I’ve been playing Pandora when I could have been on Spotify?
Are you on Spotify? What are your favorite playlists or features?
