The little book, Herbs for Stress & Anxiety by Rosemary Gladstar, stood out to me at the library. It’s subtitle read How to Make and Use Herbal Remedies to Strengthen the Nervous System.
My nervous system can use all of the strengthening I can find and I prefer natural methods, if possible.
This pocket book of information is broken in to five chapters and I have tagged a bunch of recipes I cant wait to try.
The first I’m going to test out is the Melissa Tea. This tea is said to increase energy in the system by helping release energy blocks and stress.
3 parts lemon balm
1 part chamomile
1 part hawthorn (berries, blossoms, and leaves)
1 part lemon verbena
1 part St. John’s Wart
While I drink my tea, I plan to treat myself to an herbal footbath that is recommended for headaches and mental disorders.
2 parts lavender
1 part hops
1 part sage
1/2 part rosemary
As you can tell, I am taking of advantage of our local library this summer. The kids and I equally look forward to Mondays as we refill our bag with our newest free finds. I love the library concept, what other aspect of our life do we get to borrow and reuse items with our community?
