I recently was in Orlando and you can’t go to Orlando without visiting Disney World. The problem was I only had one day to do it. I discovered that the only way to make it happen was to have a plan.
I sat down and decided which parks and attractions I wanted to visit. I was traveling with my cousin who loves to ride roller coasters. I don’t do the rides but I like the shows, simulated attractions, and whimsy. We decided on Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom and set about getting tickets and Fast Passes.
The FastPass+ allows you to pick the time you want to ride a ride or see an attraction. You can make up to 3 FastPass+ selections for a single park per day. Of course availability is a factor so the earlier you do it the better. If you purchase your theme park ticket in advance you can pick your attractions up to 30 days in advance. Don’t worry though if you are at the park and decide you want to get a FastPass+, there are kiosks in the parks you can go to. It saved us a lot of time and we didn’t have to stand in long lines. With the admission and Fastpass+ taken care of, we got up early, put on some comfortable shoes, drove and parked at Magic Kingdom as that was going to be our last stop of the day, and took the shuttle bus to Hollywood Studios. My cousin rode Twilight Zone Tower of Terrors and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster…twice; we did the Star Wars – The Adventures Continue; had lunch and saw the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. We had a great time and could have stayed longer but it was time to head over to my favorite park, The Magic Kingdom where I lost my cousin to the rides while I sought out the Haunted Mansion, A Pirates Adventure, and Cinderella’s Castle. We met up for funnel cake and ice cream, and did a little shopping (Mickey Ears for everyone) before finding a good spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade and fireworks.
We left the park at 11PM tired, wearing our Mickey Ears and feeling as if we were 12 again. We had laughed, screamed, eaten, and clapped with abandon. A well planned day at Disney World.
I would love to hear your Disney World or theme park stories and tips. Please post to The Traveling Eye Facebook page or post your pictures to The Traveling Eye Instagram. Use #thetravelingeyeshow.
Until next time keep your EYE to the Sky.
