Chicago Holidays with Chicagonista Live
Yesterday was a frigid one in Chicago. But I had things to do and places to go.
It was such a pleasant afternoon of great conversations with some of Chicago’s experts in entertaining.
Grandbaby Cakes’, Jocely Delk Adam was interviewed about her approach to baking confections. She shared with us that she is working on a new recipe book which will include savory and sweet ideas, I can’t wait! Jocely loves how cooking brings back family memories. I too love being in my own kitchen where I feel my grandmother’s and mother’s presence as I prepare some of my family’s traditional recipes. Nothing makes me happier than memories of the women who were so influential in my life.
Kesh Events’ Akeshi Imogie shared her entertaining ideas which included a beautiful tablescape along with a recipe for a delicious peppermint martini!
Chicago’s Akilah Easter from Etiquette Femme’s helped us to “mind our manners” during the holidays and all other times to help make the world a little kinder. Knowing how to tip is essential and travel etiquette can make those holiday trips much nicer for all involved.
Good food is a passion of mine and has been for most of my life. Eataly’s sponsored luncheon was such a lovely way to top off a great afternoon. It was wonderful to chat with those who work behind the scenes at Eataly Chicago, one of my favorite spots to purchase those unique items that make my meals special and hopefully memorable experiences. I too want my family to carry my love for good food on to the next generation just like my mother and grandmother did.
