The No Eye Makeup Experiment

The No Eye Makeup Experiment
Recently, I wrote about experimenting with going eye makeup-free. I’ve been tired of putting makeup on my eyes in the morning and spending far too much time and energy (and money) wiping it off at night. I’ve learned to love the look of someone with pale eyebrows and eyelashes wearing nothing but (usually bright) lipstick.... Read more »

Do Men Like Makeup on Redheads?

Do Men Like Makeup on Redheads?
If you’ve been reading this blog lately, you know that I’ve been practicing going sans makeup, save for lipstick. In my last post, I described a man I’d been chatting with on Happn, and how he told me he had a redhead fetish because us lack-of-melaniners tend to look more natural in our overdone makeup... Invisible Eyelashes & Eyebrow Insecurities

Invisible Eyelashes & Eyebrow Insecurities
I’ve been thinking a lot about makeup recently. I used to be the biggest minimalist there ever was, in the most progressive way: “This is how God made me. Why would I try to change that!?” It somehow was similar to when I was 12, the age my mom finally allowed me to get my... Read more »

Exotic Redheads: Offensive?

Exotic Redheads: Offensive?
Growing up outside of Milwaukee, in a town with mostly descendants of German immigrants and then later attending school with mostly Scandinavian descendants, I stood out with my red hair but not overly so. I shared my paleness and blue eyes with at least half of the population. My best friends always had blonde hair,... Read more »

To be serious for a minute: 2015 saw me recovering from a year-long illness. From July 2014 through March 2015, I went to my doctor again and again and again. After testing me for a plethora of very scary illnesses, he gave up and told told me I was depressed and that I needed to... Read more »

2016 New Year's Resolutions for Redheads

2016 New Year's Resolutions for Redheads
1. Wear sunscreen. Everyday. One of the best things you can do for your health and to prevent wrinkles is wear sunscreen. Look for products with SPF 15; that’s all you need. An easy way to incorporate sunscreen into your daily routine is by using moisturizer that is already combined with SPF. 2. And while... Read more »

Mascara for Redheads

Mascara for Redheads
A while back, I reviewed samples I received from a new makeup company targeted toward redheads: Redhead Revolution. While I may be biased because the the owner lived in my apartment building at some point (and she sent me free samples), I’ve been very excited to see the product line growing and improving. When I... Read more »

Finally, a mascara for redheads

Finally, a mascara for redheads
Most adolescent females go through the emo phase, the goth phase, the preppy phase or the unfortunate slutty and/or druggie phases (though fortunate for their male counterparts & drug dealers). These phases often involved experimentation with make up. Emos and maybe goths painted on tears, preps touted Lipsmackers and if you were among the slutty,... Read more »

The Ginger Phile has had the unfortunate disposition of being a ginger since birth. She has tried various medications to cure her gingervitis, including therapies such as tantrum-throwing. Her efforts have been to no avail. Instead, she is trying to write it out, via this blog. Unfortunately, she doesn't think it will bear a soul for her. The Ginger Phile is from the exotic land of Wisconsin, where she had daily inner turmoil over whether she was a ginger or a daywalker. So far, three of three votes say daywalker. She begs to differ, as someone recently told her they would want to be with her if they were biking at night because she is so pale.
