Now that it is awards season we are all looking forward to seeing the brightest stars walk the red carpet and hear who wins the highest awards for great filmmaking. These are the heights that every filmmaker aspires to reach and this can be a very inspiring time of year. What would you say in your acceptance speech? Trust me, we’ve all given it some thought and anyone who gets to the microphone and is handed a trophy and says “I didn’t have anything prepared…” is a liar. They might not have anything written down, but they’ve been preparing for this their whole lifetime.
But for the humbler filmmaker there is still a long path to the top. We may not be wearing an outfit with it’s own name on a red carpet as wide as a four lane highway, but there are still some pretty awesome pit stops along the way to cinematic success. Take for instance the premiere of a new film: any new film. This is an opportunity to be the very first person to ever see that film on the big screen!
You would think that now that we are putting the finishing touches on our fifth film, “Recalcuating” that our excitement might have lessened, but you would be mistaken. This stuff never gets old: seeing you handiwork up on the big screen is what got most filmmakers started in the first place.
Want to join us for the big day? Then mark your calendars because we will be unveiling “Recalculating” on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 at 2pm in the afternoon. Sure it’s a matinee: we wanted to leave plenty of time for the gala celebration afterwards! The screening will be at the Marcus Theatre in Elgin, Illinois and more details will be available soon so stay tuned.
