Chicago Craft Beer Week, October 12-15

Chicago Craft Beer Week, October 12-15
All I can report today is that establishments are occasionally closing temporarily as a caution from COVID exposure. But at least no else is closing permanently. At least this week. Fingers crossed...

Chicago Craft Beer Week, January 20-23

Chicago Craft Beer Week, January 20-23
My hosting site that was serving up the dates from my Google Calendar has gone wonky. I am placing text for the last day of this period at the bottom:

Phase Three Taking Over Lake Zurich

The big news as this article's writing: Phase Three Brewing Co., the current buzz beer maker in Chicago, is taking over operation of Lake Zurich Brewing. Phase Three had been contract brewing its trendy hazy IPAs at Lake Zurich, 932 Donata Ct. According to Tribune coverage by Josh Noel, Phase Three had been selling more beers, while Lake Zurich's sales were declining. Lake Zurich has posted a farewell to the Facebook page, announcing that their final weekend of operation is January 17-19. The brewery had originally opened as Black Belt Brewery, the first beermaker in the village, in 2016. It shortly closed and was taken over by Lake Zurich in 2018. The brewery is expected to reopen as Phase Three in the spring...

This Week's Chicago Craft Beer Events, October 21-24

This Week's Chicago Craft Beer Events, October 21-24

Here I thought the only secret was how much water they dilute their beer with. (Chicago Tribune)...

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, April 19-21

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, April 19-21
This is another busy weekend for beer holidays, including slightly dank one. 4/20 activities include tappings of Lagunitas Waldoes around Chicago. And Half Acre has events to note the 10th anniversary of the very popular Daisy Cutter Pale Ale, and its many variants. Plus, Mad Hatchet Brewing opens in Shorewood, and Phase Three, the split-off from More Brewing, is debuting two of their beers around Chicago. I have not come up up a lot of beer-centric Easter events. I want to confirm that beer would be on tap for brunch, since some of the restaurants might not be serving during brunch hours. I'm still putting in events at this moment, so please check back...
