Chicago Craft Beer Week, February 24-27
After enjoying Ciders throughout Chicago, we have a week of Mardi Gras and then… well, for many of us, it's Lent. But it's still okay to indulge. Beer was enough for the monks, after all.
I am still having issues with my calendar server sometimes not showing up in these articles. I'm trying a few little alterations. If you can't see the schedule, please let me know....
Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, February 21-23
This is the weekend of Chicago's Cider Summit! And there are plenty of cider related events going on all around town.
For more traditional beer lovers, we have some dark beer celebrations, Lake County Brew Fest, and Uppers & Downers. You can get a jump on pączkis before Fat Tuesday, and the St. Patrick's season starts with Guinness glass engraving promos at Binny's...
Chicago Craft Beer Events, March 4-7
We are lurching into March, a cold week, and Mardi Gras. Which for some reason, has given us a new category of Paczki beers. Not to mention Pulaski Day. And this coming Saturday, you can get some culture—yeast culture, that is—at the Field Museum with the Chicago Beer Fest. Tickets won't be sold at the door, so check this Eventbrite link...

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, March 1-3
As of Thursday morning, there are still tickets available for Night of the Living Ales, this Saturday at the Bottom Lounge. And there is a 20% discount for the 6:00 pm session—$37.50 instead of $50. If your weekend is all booked, there's also next Saturday's Chicago Beer Fest, at the Field Museum...
Chicago Mardi Gras/Valentine's Beer Events, February 12-15
So what's going on this week in the beer world?
Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday, also known as Mardi Gras, Panckae Day and Pączki Day. For some of us, a last chance to indulge, or to pair beer with sugary pastries.
Wednesday is Valentine's Day, so we have plenty of romantic beer dinners, or at least Valentine's specials at places known for good beer.
Saturday is the Cider Summit at Navy Pier, so several cider makers are already in town for what they're calling Chicago Cider Week...
Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, February 9-11
Update: Due to the humongous snowfall dumping on the Chicago area, I have already been notified that one event is bing moved to next Friday, while others may be closed or cancelled.I don't have resources to run a Emergency bar Closing service (although that would be awesome), so please call ahead to any venue you might be planning to visit this weekend.
This weekend starts beer stuff related to Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras in Chicago. Additionally, next Saturday is the Cider Summit at Navy Pier. Tickets are already sold out, but there will be cider-type events going on through the week. I'll try to get next week's busy calendar posted here shortly...
