Chicago Mother's Day Weekend with Beer: May 7-9
Update: Josh Noel at the Tribune has broken the story Thursday: Half Acre Beer Co. is selling its original 4257 N. Lincoln Ave. brewing space to Hop Butcher for the World. The move will give the contract brewer a permanent space with its own taproom and takeout shop. Half Acre will consolidate operations at its much larger brewery, 2050 W. Balmoral Ave. Hop Butcher, originally South Loop Brewing, started out brewing at the late Aquanaut Brewing, and has been making its fruity IPAs at other locations, primarily Miskatonic. The purchase also affects the nanobrewer Keeping Together (info below), which will continue to brew at the Lincoln Ave. space until October. (Article)
