So, some likely rough patches coming up. We, the ChicagoNow blogging community, have been told the site will be shut down by the Tribune Co., which for the past month or so has not acknowledged out existence.
Still no sure date on when ChicagoNow.com goes dark, only that it’s “sooner than later.” I need to get off my duff and migrate this site to a new hosting service that will let me migrate all my posts and photos. If you use my beeronaut.com url, you should not see any service interruption; but I do have a spit-ton of work to catch up on as well.
River Hawk Brewing in Channahon has announced they are looking for either a buyer, or some investors interested in funding. The notice was posted on their Square site. Hoping to see further details as they emerge.
Up in Wisconsin, popular brewery Ale Asylum has announced they will be closing after 16 years of operation. The owners had put the brewery up for sale last year, citing increased rent for their space. (Channel 3000)
Just a general note: a couple of taprooms in this area have posted that they will no longer be able to allow patrons to bring their dogs. No one wants to lay a finger of blame on whoever “spoiled it for the rest of us,” but assume there was some incident that could have affected an establishment’s liability. If you visited a “pet friendly” establishment in the past, please re-check their policy before you return.
