12:00 pm • First New Beer of the New Year
Solemn Oath Taproom, 1661 Quincy Ave. #179, Naperville IL (630) 995-3062 Map
The highest ABV barleywine in the history of SOB.
That’s right. The first new beer rolling off the canning line in 2022 is our most turnt up barleywine of all time. If it were any bigger this thing would be illegal, literally. Like for real, it would be illegal for us to release this beer if this baby had any more booze in it.
Named in honor of our founder, John Barley, this behemoth is an unscalable mountain of sticky sweet malt magnificence. A mammoth melange of toffee, caramel, and candied prunes, this 15% ABV American Barleywine is not just the first beer of the new year, it is the first beer of our tenth year of production.
Having that distinction of being the beer one of year ten, we decided to name this big dawg for our founder and all around swell fella, John Barley.
This is… Johnny Barleywine. There’s even more to the name story, but you’ll have to get your hands on a can to get the full scoop. Johnny Barleywine is available in single cans (no limit) at the brewery Friday, January 7th at noon and will be available on draft while supplies last.
Blood, sweat, and cheers to ten years at the helm, John! We love ya!
