New customers during Skeleton Key's opening weekend, 2015.

I hope to stay busy updating this post with fundraising events for Skeleton Key Brewery, which was severely damaged in last Sunday’s tornadoes. The outpouring of support from all of Chicago’s beer scene, brewers and drinkers alike, has been amazing.

Swedish Days at The Beer Cellar
The Beer Cellar Geneva, 204 W. State St., Geneva, IL (630) 315-5060 Map
At The Beer Cellar, we’re so excited for our first-ever Swedish Days. We all missed our summer festivals last year, and we can’t wait for four great days in downtown Geneva this week.
Here’s what we have on tap for you from June 24-27:
Craft Beer Tent: We’re one of the sponsors of the Craft Beer Tent that will be at the corner of 3rd St. & James St. (just one block southwest of the shop). We’ll have four beers and a hard seltzer on all weekend long, so come enjoy a pour outside with us! (Hours: Th & Fri: 4-10 PM; Sat: 12-10 PM; Sun: 12-4 PM)
Swedish Daze: We collaborated with Penrose to brew a hazy IPA in celebration of this year’s fest! It’ll be available on tap at the Craft Beer Tent and in the shop, and it’ll be on sale in 4-packs (starting Thursday, 6/24) in-store. This is a limited release, so when it’s gone, it’s gone!
2021 TBC Swedish Days Glass: our friend at Tichy Brand designed a beautiful glass to celebrate Swedish Days, and they’ll be on sale for $8 starting on Thursday, 6/24.
Swedish Beers on tap: Of course, we wouldn’t be doing Swedish Days right without some Swedish beers on tap! Stop by the Craft Beer Tent to try Black Currant, a sour ale from Dugges Bryggeri in Sweden. And stop by the taproom for beers from Omnipollo & Dugges Bryggeri
We thank you so much for your support over the past 15 months, and hope you come out this weekend to enjoy this incredible event put on by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. For a full schedule of events, check out The schedule is full of fun events for people of all ages, so don’t miss out on your chance to enjoy this staple of Geneva summers this year!

What will be on tap?
7th Evil Ex: A delightful black lager with a light, crisp body and roasty flavor
Things We Don’t Say IPA: Hazy IPA with the message of It’s Ok to not be Ok
Wondrous: This classic saison features a beautiful balance of fruity, bright citrus and delightful hints of clove and white pepper.
Lost In The Ivy: Michigan-grown Strata & Citra hops. Like a sunset in a glass, this deeply amber-hued ale is a tribute to a loved one we lost unexpectedly last week. It was brewed with midwest-grown ingredients for mellow dankness, a touch of fruity character and a bare hint of chocolate roast, with pleasantly mild, lingering bitterness.
Feel free to stop in and pick up a 4-pack (or more) to show your support! Please note these will only be available as 4-packs, no singles

12:00 pm • Fresh Beer Friday
Solemn Oath Brewery, 1661 Quincy Ave. #179, Naperville IL (630) 995-3062 Map
& Solemn Oath Brewery Still Life, 2919 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago  Map
As we ramp up for the first full week of operations in our new Chicago home at Solemn Oath’s Still Life in Logan Square we are proud to debut our first ever Fresh Beer Friday release in the city.
R4 Hazy Pale Ale: This release is a collaborative effort with our buds from Rhinegeist Brewing which boasts deep roots predating the openings of both their brewery and ours. A meandering path that once wandered through Goose Island and Anheuser-Busch has converged once again, and longtime friends Matt Steinke (Rhinegeist) and Eric Hobbs (SOB) brought their team’s together to create R4, a hazy pale ale brewed in honor of their storied past.
At 5.5%, R4 is primed and ready for the warmth of the early summer season. Brewed with a healthy dose of Citra and Azacca for a base layer of juiced mango, guava, peach and pear, with an encore of spiced orange from that late addition Jarrylo. Canned and ready just in time for the beach, BBQ or back alley firework show.
Unholy Goat Tartshake IPA: The second leg of our first FBF boasts the first beer focused collab with frequent SOB food and fun partner, Chef Stephanie Izard. As the first part of the name should suggest to most of the SOB faithful this beer falls closely in line with previous Unholy (Water) releases, yet strays from the norm like a wayward goat from the pack to create its very own pasture of complex flavor profiles.
A Tartshake IPA with Watermelon, Pineapple, Lime, Chile, and Sea Salt, Unholy Goat is an ode to one of Chef Izard’s go to summer snacks, freshly cut watermelon dusted with chile lime salt. Brewed in celebration of the 11th anniversary of Girl & The Goat as well as Chef Izard and Girl & The Goat’s soon-to-open Los Angeles outpost, Unholy Goat bursts with juicy-sweet watermelon roundness and a delicate balancing act of tart lime popping across the palate with tongue tingling chile and sea salt. Summer in a glass and only available from SOB or at Chef Izard’s Goat Group of restaurants.
Both R4 Hazy Pale Ale and Unholy Goat Tartshake IPA will be available via our final deliveries this Thursday/Friday as well as on draft and in 4pks for pickup on Fresh Beer Friday at open in Chicago and Naperville.
