I got myself swamped by events going on this weekend, so very little time to add little news bits. Just to remind you that Illinois Craft Beer Week continues through next Friday, May 21. Click that link back there for details.

Friday, May 14

3 Year Anniversary Celebration

We are Hosting a HUGE weekend at OBC. And mostly, Happy Anniversary to us! Let’s celebrate 3 years together, shall we?
FRIDAY, May 14th:
FOOD: Crust Culture will be serving up hand-crafted, locally sourced, wood-fired pizza from 5-8 PM!
SATURDAY, May 15th Join us ALL day from 10 AM to 11 PM!
We’re releasing 2 versions of our barrel aged Daguerreotype. The first is straight up barrel aged deliciousness with a year of residency in 15 year wheated Old Fitzgerald barrels. The second is our Daguerreotype aged in 1910 Old Forester barrels with copious amounts of toasted coconut and Tahitian Vanilla bean.

FOOD and DRINK Specialties:

  • 10 AM-Noon: Rolling Burritos: Get your bottles and some breakfast burritos. We will also be serving up yummy beermosas and bloody beers!
  • Noon – 9PM: Wurst Kitchen from Aurora will be serving up with famous sausages along with their other kitchen favorites!


Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for our beer garden, masks are required while inside, interacting with staff, and while not eating or drinking.

We will be having a luau for the Jeep “Luau” Charity Ride! Bring your Hawaiian shirts from 2-5 PM

Our highest rated non-barrel aged beer is heading back to the taproom this Friday.
Fisherman’s Breakfast, our 13% ABV imperial stout with Freshground Roasting coffee, maple, vanilla, toasted coconut, and cocoa nibs, has only been tasted by a handful of folks lucky enough to try it at our grand opening over two years ago.
Now it’s back, and we’re celebrating by releasing bottles AND tapping a keg on Friday at noon.
Pre-orders for the bottles will go live Thursday at noon. Bottles can be picked up anytime after noon on Friday.
What goes awesome with beer releases and bottles? BAR-B-QUE!
Fire & Smoke will be here around 5pm with their assortment of smoked meat dishes. Get in early and grab a table in the beer garden while they last.

In culinary school I had a Lebanese friend named Al that was a guest chef for one of our international dinners. I now make “Al’s chicken” on a regular basis. I hope you’ll like it as much as I do.
