Thursday, March 12 Update: I have word of one COVID-19 postponement so far. The Chicago Beer Festival set for March 14 at the Field Museum is postponed until September 26. Tickets for the event are being refunded today and Friday.
The 11th Annual Tinley Park Brew & Vine Festival, scheduled for April 4, has also been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.
I now have confirmation that Goose Island’s Stoutfest, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed. A makeup date will be announced later.
Most bars and taprooms have posted to their social media that they will try to remain open, and are increasing their sanitation efforts. Short Fuse is offering patrons the option of having their beer served in a disposable plastic cup instead of a glass. But so far, I have only seen one closing notice: the Lagunitas‘ Chicago TapRoom.
Wednesday Update: As you’ve no doubt heard, many St. Patrick’s events have been cancelled this weekend, including the Downtown, North Side and South Side parades, and the dying of the Chicago River. I have not yet heard of any cancellations for these events, but when I do, I will update this page as fast as I can. Venue managers; if you are cancelling or altering your weekend festivities, please let me know, too!
Sunday update: I’ve finally caught up to all the weekend events I had saved, and now they’re posted here. I’ll have more coming in as I learn about then, no doubt, but I now need to build a list for St. Patrick’s Day proper.
Mrs. ‘Naut broke her wrist last Friday, and had surgery this past Friday to put all the bones back together. So I’ve been sitting with her. I’m continuing to add events for the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day, so I once again ask you to check back often!
