Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, December 6-8

Chicago Craft Beer Weekend, December 6-8
(Actually this is obviously a Photoshopped Coca-Cola ad).

So on top of the news that Kings and Convicts has bought out the Ballast Point beer brand, we have another bit of change on the way:

Andersonville Brewing, which started in 2009 as a side brewing operation at Hamburger Mary’s Chicago restaurant, will be ending operations in early 2020. Their brewing space will be taken over by Urban Renewal Brewing. They have confirmed to me that Andersonville’s spinoff, Oak Park Brewing, will continue to operate. Urban Renewal will run the space as a tap room for their beers, and eventually make some small batch releases there, according to brewery personnel.

I am hoping to start posting New Year’s Eve parties over the weekend. I’ll simply post my usual calendar article for the week of December 30 to January 2 with the NYE parties filling in. No doubt more will be made known as I go, but you may want to make your reservations sooner than later.

Friday, December 6
