Lottery Open for Goose Island Proprietor's Day

Lottery Open for Goose Island Proprietor's Day

Oktoberfest season is wrapping up, and pumpkin pie beers are, well, hanging around for the foreseeable future. But it so happens we can now look forward to Bourbon County Brand Stout season! And for the second year, we’ll have Proprietor’s Day as well.

The 2nd annual Proprietor’s Day will be Sunday, November 19 at the Taproom of the Goose Island Brewery, 1800 W. Fulton St., Chicago. The event will be the only opportunity to purchase Bourbon County Brand Stout Proprietor’s, and Bourbon County Reserve Brand Stout, before Black Friday.

Proprietor’s is a variant available only in Chicago. The 2017 version is described as “evocative of the classic bananas Foster recipe. (T)his year’s Proprietor’s has balanced aromas of banana, cassia bark and roasted almonds, and gives a great depth and integration of flavors. Barrels were second use, fresh-unrinsed, 5 to 7-year-old bourbon barrels.”

Admission to the event is determined by lottery, which is going on now through midnight CST, the night of October 18. Fans can enter the lottery once daily via

Winning entries will be notified October 18 at noon. Winners will have 48 hours to claim their tickets, which will cost $30. Winners will have the option to buy a second ticket for a companion. Tickets not claimed will go back in the pool for a second round drawing October 20 at noon. All winners will be confirmed October 22.

Bottle pickup will take place from 11 am to 5 pm, broken into four “shifts”. Each attendee will be allowed to pick up two bottles of Bourbon County Stout Proprietor’s and one bottle of Bourbon County Reserve Stout, for $70 total.

The street in front of the tap room will be closed off during the bottle pickup for a Street Market, starting at 12 pm. The event will feature live music, food trucks, and beer tastings. Attendees will received five tokens for samples of other BCS variants, Old Man Grumpy, and perhaps some surprises. Attendees will also receive a limited Bourbon County Brand Stout commemorative snifter and custom Bourbon County tote bag.

Note that the names on the ticket must match the names on the individual’s IDs – no exceptions. Attendees will only be granted to the sessions for which they registered and anyone who misses their scheduled sessions will not be permitted to later ones.
