High Noon Saloon, 1560 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago 773-227-9339
High Noon Saloon hosts Michigan’s Bell’s Brewery for a tap takeover. The event features the extremely limited Mango Habanero Oberon Ale, a spicy spin on the brewery’s Oberon Ale with aromas and flavors of mango and warm habanero notes. This beer has never been offered outside of the Bell’s brewery, and there are only a dozen barrels allocated for all of Chicagoland. High Noon Saloon has secured a barrel and this will be the first tapping of the Mango Habanero Oberon Ale in the area. Other limited beers include the Hell Hath No Fury Ale; this beer has not been brewed for three years and only a handful of barrels will be released in the Chicago market. Quinannan Falls Special Lager, a limited-release draft-only beer that is brewed and dry-hopped with Pacific Northwest hops, and Best Brown Ale, a seasonal favorite with caramel and cocoa notes, will also be tapped. Two year-round favorites, the refreshingly tart Oarsman Ale and the intensely hopped Two Hearted Ale, also make the Tappening lineup.
Bell’s field sales representative Monica Mooney will be on-hand for questions about the featured beers. Giveaways include Bell’s hats, T-shirts and other logoed gear. There is no cover charge and food and drink are pay-as-you-go. Beers range from $5-$8 each and food specials range from $4-$7 each. Reservations recommended via 773-227-9339.
