5:00 – 9:00 pm ♦ New Belgium Ranger Games
Thalia Hall, 1227 W. 18th St., Chicago (312) 526-3851
New Belgium Brewing is on the search for Chicago’s Ultimate Bar Rangers and will host a night of whimsical games to crown the winner. It all takes place at Thalia Hall. The games, hosted by 93 WXRT’s DJ Ryan Arnold, will put Chicago’s savviest bar staff through a gauntlet of games to crown the Ultimate Bar Ranger team. Members from the winning team get bragging rights along with a trip to New Belgium, in Ft. Collins, Colo., to brew their own beer.
The Windy City’s favorite bartenders will compete in talent feats ranging from a mini bike joust to ranger ring toss – onto a helmet fitted with antlers, of course – a slow ride challenge and even a game of Rolle Bolle. The top two teams will then face off in a round of raw egg roulette trivia. Everyone is invited to cheer on the bartenders and encourage the tomfoolery.
Once an Ultimate Bar Ranger team is crowned, then the after-party starts with brassy blues rock served up by Black Joe Lewis. New Belgium will pour new beers and old favorites alongside New Belgium’s Ranger IPA, a year-round beer that pays tribute to New Belgium’s Beer Rangers. Click here to see the latest Ranger video – “Behind every Ranger is a Ranger”.
Tickets: $10 per person at www.thaliahallchicago.com.
Nonprofit Partners: West Town Bikes, a nonprofit in the Chicago area that offers bicycle mechanic workshops, youth programs and special community events, built the Ultimate Bar Ranger belt and mini-bikes that bartenders will compete on.
Rebuilding Exchange is a nonprofit market for reclaimed building materials diverted from landfills. Rebuilding Exchange promotes sustainable deconstruction practices and created the antler helmets for the Ranger Ring Toss.
