Cupcake Porn.

Last night as the hubs and I were talking, I subtly mentioned that for our anniversary (which is Saturday), he should surprise me with some awesome cupcakes. I’m a chick with a notorious sweet tooth who can bake like a fiend, but have never actually succumbed to the temptation of the ever popular gourmet cupcake. Note to self, you were missing out big time! What the hell were you thinking?! So it seemed like a perfect appropriate gesture.

After a bit more consideration, we unanimously decided that if he’s going to “surprise” me with cupcakes for our anniversary, we better make sure that where ever he goes is epically delicious…and so the decision is made that we’ll need to do some preliminary taste testing.
I’m sure you can tell where this is going.

With a little bit of research (thank you Google) and a recommendation from a friend on a message board, we landed on Molly’s Cupcakes. And lucky for us…they were open until 10pm on Sundays.
With our out of town friend Dawn in tow, we hopped into the car to make the drive up Clark Street. Surprisingly, for 9pm on a Sunday night, Molly’s Cupcakes was hopping. Arguably close two dozen people were there indulging in sweet, mouthwatering, sugary awesomeness with another handful waiting in line. Upon entering I may or may not have had to wipe my chin from the drool from the sweet aroma dancing in the air.
My body is quivering with joy just thinking about the whole experience…

But rather than try to explain how awesome their cupcakes are…why don’t I just show you? And if you think they look amazing, they taste about three billion times better than look!
If you’ve never experience Molly’s Cupcakes first hand, stop reading this blog, shut down your computer and go flag a cab because you are missing something deliciously fierce! If I could bottle this awesomeness to share with all of you fine folks, I would do it in a heartbeat.

So after slowly savoring our slices of heaven, we all happily slipped into a cupcake coma.

Until next time, Molly’s…and we’ll be seeing you soon.

Most recently, Molly’s Cupcakes head cupcake ninja, Eileen Kerbel, competed on the Food Network show Cupcake Wars, and ultimately won her battle which aired earlier this month. For good measure, check out her submission video below, but be warned, my new favorite sugar mama has a bit of a potty mouth. 😉
