Going To A Party This Weekend...? Look Out For Slut-Shaming

Ol’ Charlie Darwin may have blushed at the latest evolutionary research by a Canadian team from the University of Ottawa. It recently decided to study the phenomenon of “slut shaming,” a term coined by angry feminists who resent peers who toss their sexuality around too freely.

Just between you and me, I don’t believe we needed a research project to tell us this, but at least now we have empirical evidence to back up our own intuition about such females. In this study the team experimented by planting audacious-looking women in various social settings. The plants wore tight skirts, low-cut blouses, spike heels and heavy makeup.

Hidden cameras tracked the reactions in the room. Predictably, men took an interested second and third look. In sharp contrast, the women in the rooms rolled their eyes, leaned away their bodies, and after the plants left they generally used such endearing terms as “What the f–k was that?!”

Head psychologist Tracey Vallencourt put their research into perspective: “Sex is coveted by men. Women who make it too readily available compromise the power-holding position of their peers. Women are most aggressive about other women during the years when they are competing for males, but the hostility fades as they get older.”

So there it is, my party-planning friends, confirmation for three long-held attitudes about the other sex: (1) Young women covet men! (2) Men of any age this side of death covet women! (3) If you are a young woman with assets to show, you sure as hell better not get in the way of your fellow coveters this weekend…!
