This December was a rarity, I was in town long enough to attend a few great celebrations. I still missed more stuff than I wanted. But here are some pictures and video from some of the best events of the month.
One Acre Fund 7th Annual Chicago Gala
Andrew Youn and Harry Kraemer
On December 11th, 2013, One Acre Fund hosted its 7th annual Chicago Gala and Silent Auction, honoring Harry Kraemer, with its Farmers’ Humanitarian Award recipient. The annual gala gathers Chicago’s community of philanthropists, social entrepreneurs, executives, and members of the Kellogg/Northwestern community for an evening of music, dinner and presentations that celebrate both One Acre Fund’s work and the many people that support it. This event took place at the Chicago Cultural Center and was attended by 300 people.
One Acre Fund is an award-winning non-profit providing a ‘market bundle’ that includes education, finance, seed and fertilizer, and market access to over 137,000 farmers and their families in East Africa. One Acre Fund uses investments, not handouts, to generate permanent gains in farm income, helping Africa’s hardest working farm families achieve their full potential. One Acre Fund’s programs, which impact over 820,000 people across Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi, have won accolades and press from the Financial Times, Forbes magazine, and PBS Newshour, as well as funding from USAID. In January 2013, the organization was listed #18 on the Global Journal’s annual list of the world’s Top 100 NGOs. Visit One Acre Fund’s website at http://www.oneacrefund.org/

The wines are featured along with a social media campaign and a web commercial showing a couple enjoying a rendezvous over a bottle of wine. Visit the web site at www.lovecorkscrew.com
“The Grinch Who Gave Back Christmas” Fundraiser For Brian Injury Association of Ilinois
Celebrating Christmas early At the Underground
The mid December party at The Underground hosted by Marco Foster drew a sellout crowd, came complete with its own Grinch, and turned out one of the best event videos I’ve ever seen. All for the Brain Injury Association of Illinois.
