"Shark Tank Social" Helps Local Entrepreneurs Prep For The Popular Show

I am a huge fan of the TV show Shark Tank, so I was excited when I found out about the “Shark Tank Social” that’s happening here in Chicago on September 13th  at the Zhou B Art Lounge 1029 West 35th Street.  For those of you who don’t know about the show, Shark Tank is a reality TV show highlighting the “pitch process” of eager entrepreneurs seeking an investment in exchange for royalties or co-ownership in their respective companies.

“The Sharks are tough, self-made, millionaires and billionaires who give budding entrepreneurs the chance to make their dreams come true and score business deals that could make them millions. The show’s panel includes billionaire Mark Cuban , owner of the  NBA team the  Dallas Mavericks; real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran; “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John; and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary.”

At times the sharks are brutally honest with the contestants (some literally cry) yet the show is  great education for those wanting to pitch investors at any level.  Some win big (offers of over one million in funding) but many walk away with nothing.

The Shark Tank Social was created by the public relations firm Official Anais PR to connect budding entrepreneurs and other professionals who may have a business idea and eventually want to try out for the actual show.  “The event is for both fans of the show and those wanting to learn how to ready their pitch for investors” said CEO Vau’ve Anais Davis about the event. “Whether you are a business owner, author or public speaker this event can help you”.

Shark Tank Social is free and open to the public and the organizers have promised me that they will not to make anyone cry at the event.
