"Eras OF Hope" Fashion, Awareness, Fun at Mercedes Benz of Chicago

April is Child Abuse Prevention month.  My friends at One Hope United  are gathering to raise awareness and funds to support One Hope United’s  efforts to prevent these horrific events from happening, or happening again.

One Hope United was founded as Chicago Baptist Orphanage in 1895 and Hudelson Baptist Children’s Home in 1903. The scope of services of both organizations evolved over the years, expanding to include foster care, clinical services and early childhood development.

The two organizations entered into a management agreement in 1987. In 2004, they transformed into a federated partnership to reflect their position as a national organization working toward the same mission: protecting children and strengthening families.  The organization provides a diverse array of prevention, intervention and community-based support programs to vulnerable, high-risk populations, as well as education and advocacy on the local, state and national levels.

There are great causes and none more important than protecting children from the horrors of abuse.  That’s why I’m joining with a high powered group of Chicagoans  to serve on the the host committee for “Eras Of Hope” a fundraiser with all proceeds benefitting  One Hope United.  The event will be  held at Mercedes Benz of Chicago  1520 West North Avenue  from  7PM to 11PM .  Joining together in this effort are  Benjamin Cottrell (Benjamin Cottrell Designs), Delrice Adams (Forecast for the Arts),  Jenaeth Markaj (One Hope United),  Larry James (House of Trend),  Marco Foster (Marco Foster Events), Sarah Vargo (Maven and Social Gravity).

This special evening will highlight four different eras:
The Roaring ‘20s, Spirit of the ‘60s, Awesome ‘80s and Into the Future.

Fashion installations produced by Benjamin Cottrell Designs will feature looks created by four designers, with hair and makeup by Strange Beauty Show and Lora Michael.

Fashion and music will change hourly, starting with the 1920s and moving through the eras.

Come dressed in the style of your favorite era! Flappers, hippies, children of the ‘80s, or fashionistas from the future…all are welcome! Capture your look in the party photo booth!
