About SoLo Living

I am Regine Rousseau, a single writer, wine enthusiast (www.shallwewine.com) and entrepreneur living on the south side of Chicago. I am the author of a book of poetry Searching for Cloves and Lilies. A few years ago, I received a great write up in The New Yorker Magazine! I am a contributing writer for The Chicago Defender Newspaper, and recently launched a new website www.Hair1on1.com dedicated to teaching parents of biracial and African American girls simple steps to managing their hair via step by step video lessons. I am busy!!!!

I started this blog a few years ago, because I was facing one of life's major decisions; to move or not to move; and if I do move (within the city of Chicago) where to? As most renters know 60 days before the end of your lease is like the time before a man proposes to his girlfriend; doubt, confusion, wonder, and the nagging thought, "I love her, but I can do better...maybe?"The idea that there was a sexier, cheaper apartment in SoLo  (Chicago's South Loop) or another Chicago neighborhood drove this "sane" woman to write a blog!

In the past two years, SoLo Living has transformed into a blog about my SoLo adventures: traveling to Haiti, facing my childhood, on-line dating and many more.

Thank you for following my journey!
