Spring is here, and these upcoming events in the City of Chicago are sure to keep your April exciting Mark your calendars and grab your friends for:
WHAT: RedEye and Gentleman Jack present “Toast to Traditions”
RedEye and Gentleman Jack, one of Jack Daniel’s premium Tennessee whiskeys, will host Toast to Traditions, an exclusive VIP cocktail event honoring local Chicago influencers. The celebration will offer guests the opportunity to mix and mingle with some of Chicago’s most sophisticated and influential males across a multitude of professional industries including finance, hospitality, broadcast and sports.
Complimentary shoe shines, cigar rolling, hot shaves, spa treatments and double charcoal mellowed Gentleman Jack cocktails, along with a special tasting of Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select, will be available throughout the evening, which will be capped off with a special toast to the honorees by Jack Daniel’s Brand Ambassador, Armando Zapata.
A portion of ticket sales will benefit Rags of Honor, a nonprofit top-quality screen-printing organization providing employment and services to homeless veterans.
The event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6

To promote responsible drinking, RedEye and Gentleman Jack partnered with Uber, which will be providing guests credit towards their rides home at the end of the evening. WHAT: The Black Womens Expo
The Black Women’s Expo is the nation’s foremost exposition targeting the African American consumer market. It is a weekend that empowers, enlightens and uplifts African American women and their families with informative seminars and panel discussions presented by notable local and national speakers and lecturers, educational exhibits and corporate displays, and rousing entertainment. Historically, the standing-room only seminars have addressed such issues as health & wellness, racial equality, hair & beauty, travel, career advancement, business/entrepreneurship, the welfare of our children and much more. #Shematters
WHEN: April 8-10
McCormick Place, located at 2301 South Lake Shore Drive. The exhibit hall is located in the North Building, Hall C1.
The Black Women’s Expo show hours are Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Sunday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

WHAT: Tribune Events Group & #Foodiechats present “Sensory Overload”
Showcasing 15 original Chicago dishes to entice the five senses —sight, smell, taste, sound and touch — Sensory Overload will offer patrons an opportunity to explore the local culinary scene from top restaurants and producers in a truly compelling fashion.
Guests will partake in a three-hour interactive adventure where they will experience each specially crafted dish under one roof and come into contact with food in inventive ways they never imagined.
Confirmed partners represent a wide variety of renowned Chicago restaurants and food producers, including Coconutz, Connie’s Pizza, Gibsons, Greenridge Farms Deli, The Hampton Social, Hubbard Inn, Illinois Farm Families, Jellyfish, Outdoor Farmers Market, Pork Chop, Sage Gardens, Sartori, Smith & Wollensky, Uncle Dougie’s and Yolk.
