Lovers & Livelihoods, or "How Did I Blow That Job?"

Lovers & Livelihoods, or "How Did I Blow That Job?"

by Gina B.

I have a confession to make:  I live a double life.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I’ve been a dating columnist for some time through multiple channels, with my column – The Gina Spot – in Tribune’s RedEye being the most recent prior to being an original member of Six Brown Chicks.

What you might not know is that I’m also an executive recruiter by day.  The two lives never really converge, which I honestly prefer, but over the years I’ve noticed that there’s a special connection between the two topics.  Everyone wants two things:  love and money.  Most people are seeking the balance between an ideal career and fulfilling relationship.  To take it a step further, many people make mistakes in both areas.  People who have issues in interviews might also have similar issues when meeting potential significant others.   The parallels can be striking, and often amusing.

I don’t have all of the answers, but I can help.

It is for those reasons that I’ve created a new YouTube channel, titled Lovers & Livelihoods, or “How Did I Blow That Job?”, which will be the only place where I will address this unique intersection.  Please do watch the introduction video where I provide more information, and feel free to subscribe!  My goal is to provide helpful tips going forward.
