With 22 major art festivals throughout Chicagoland (and one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin), 2018 promises a reason to get out and enjoy the summer season while viewing the exciting scope of original works from world-class artists along with the festival atmosphere.
Daley Plaza Art Markets, Fridays, May 11, June 22, July 13, and August 10, 8 am. to 6 pm.
On four summer Fridays, kicking May 11 Daley Plaza will be ablaze in color with nearly 75 juried artists will be exhibiting their original work outdoors. Art lovers will find a variety of mediums including jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, paintings, glass, wearables, wood, mixed media and much more Friday Art Markets at Daley Plaza .
Barrington Art Festival – Barrington, Illinois
Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27, 10 am to 5 pm
The 9th annual Barrington Art Festival takes place Memorial Day weekend, along Cook and Station streets in Downtown Barrington. The fest will sowcase the original work of more than 130 juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums. In addition to the incredible artwork attendees will enjoy live music, kid-friendly activities, and more.
57th Street Art Fair
June 2 & 3, Sat. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The annual 57th Street Art Fair, a two-day outdoor celebration of the visual arts held in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, adjacent to the University of Chicago campus and President Barak Obama’s home is the oldest juried art fair in the Midwest, the fair typically features the work of 250 exhibitors.
Promenade of Art – Arlington Heights, Illinois
Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10, 10 am to 5 pm.
Arlington Heights’ Promenade of Art features more than 110 juried artists from across the country selling original works in a variety of mediums plus live art demonstrations, local food fare, live music, a graffiti wall, Art Bingo, a photo booth and more.
Old Town Art Fair
June 9 & 10, Saturday 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday 10 am to 6 pm.
A host of private parties plus the annual bash at St. Michael’s are all part of the atmosphere surrounding the Old Town Art Fair. Old Town Triangle Historic District. The fair itself features 250 nationally acclaimed artists, an estimated 30,000 art lovers, a Garden Walk, Live Music, Food Court and Children’s Corner. Gates open Saturday 10:00 am rain or shine.
Gold Coast Art Fair at Grant Park – Chicago, IL
Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17, 10 am. to 6 pm.
This grandaddy of art fairs, the 61st annual Gold Coast Art Fair takes place at Grant Park’s Butler Field. The award-winning Fair offers 300 juried artists from around the world with demonstrations, live music and interactive art projects. Bask in the summer sun and take in Chicago’s skyline in one of three Food, Music & Beer Oases. Suggested entry fee is $5, which will go to the Chicago Park District’s Art Programs.
Festival of Fine Arts – Highland Park, IL
Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24, 10 am. to 5 pm.
The popular Festival of Fine Arts is celebrating its 20th anniversary at The Art Center in downtown Highland Park with the original work of 125 juried artists from around the world in a variety of original mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, sculpture and more. In addition to art available for purchase, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. Plus there’s live music, great food and activities for kids.
Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival – Glencoe, IL

The Chicago Botanic Garden sets the stage for its 8th annual Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival. See the work of 95 unique artists in a pristine setting overlooking a lake, spectacular gardens and 385 acres of gardens. The artwork embodies a botanic theme, use or material. Entrance to the garden is free but parking is $30.
Millennium Art Festival – Chicago, IL

Popping up for a three-day weekend, top-ranked art and design show Millennium Art Festival is renowned as one of the “Top 50 Art and Design Shows” (Sunshine Artist Magazine). The Art Festival showcases the talents of more than 110 juried artists who participate in this city-centric festival. Festival goers will see an array of original artwork, including paintings, ceramics, photography, and furniture along with live performances, fantastic food, and interactive art-filled experiences.
Southport Art Festival – Chicago, IL

The Southport Art Festival in Lakeview is showcases the work of more than 75 of the city’s most diverse artists who work in a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, jewelry, sculpture, photography, glass and mixed media. Festival guests also will have the opportunity, through live art demonstrations and booth chats to speak one-on-one with the artists.
Artfest Michigan Avenue – Chicago, IL

Artfest Michigan Avenue takes place on Michigan Avenue situated next the new Apple Store overlooking the Chicago River. Artfest features the original work of about 120 juried artists in this “all art” show.
Glencoe Festival of Art – Glencoe, IL
Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29, 10 am. to 5 pm.
The 10th annual Glencoe Festival of Art will showcase the original work of more than 110-juried artists from across the country in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, and wood. In addition to the art, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. Kids will also have the opportunity to participate in art scavenger hunts throughout the weekend. Live music will be played both days and festival attendees will have a wide-array of restaurants and cafes surrounding downtown Glencoe.
Art at the Glen – Glenview, IL
Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5. 10 am to 5 pm.
The 15th Annual Art at the Glen transforms The Glen Town Center into an outdoor cultural experience. The streets will be filled with original work from 185-juried artist from across the country in a variety of mediums, including paintings, photography, ceramics, furniture and jewelry. Kids can enjoy a special area designated just for them with interactive games and activities, including live performances by the Marriott Theater.
Lincolnshire Art Festival – Lincolnshire, IL

The 21st annual festival hosts 100 juried artists from around the country in the Village Green of Lincolnshire featuring fine art in a variety of mediums.
Art & Big Fork Festival – Evanston, IL

Port Clinton Art Festival & Taste of Highland Park – Highland Park, IL

Located in downtown Highland Park, the 35th annual Port Clinton Art Festival is one of the most acclaimed art festivals in the country and rated one of the top 6 art shows in the United States (Sunshine Artist Magazine). More than 260 artists come together to showcase their work. Alongside established artists, a youth art division celebrates the talents of young artists ages 18 and under. Simultaneously, to the art fest is the Taste of Highland Park featuring food, beer, wine and live music.
Fine Art Festival at Oakbrook Center – Oak Brook, IL

Located at Oakbrook Shopping Center, complete with upscale retail shops and restaurants, the Fine Art Festival is a family event featuring the works of 70 juried artists. Deer Park Art Show – Deer Park, IL

Milwaukee’s happening Third is the setting for the 7th annual Third Ward Art Festival showcasing the work of more than 140 juried artists, in a variety of original mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, wood and furniture. In addition, attendees can interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. Fun activities including color creations, art fest bingo and spin art will be available for children.
Printer’s Row Art Fest – Chicago, IL

The South Loop is the location for this new art fest featuring art from all price points by painters, street artists, jewelers, upcycling artists, artisans of all kinds, photographers, and mixed media artists. Area restaurants and bars will be on hand to serve up their Chicago Specialties along with live music.
Highwood Starving Artists Show – Highwood, IL
Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30, 10 am to 5 pm.
The Highwood Starving Artists Show in downtown Highwood is an opportunity for artists to sell their odd pieces and clear out inventory in preparation for the year ahead and a chance for art lovers to find some bargains on everything from jewelry to ceramics to fine art.
Arboretum Art Festival – South Barrington, IL
Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7. 10 am. to 5 pm.
The 2nd Annual Arboretum Art Festival takes place in the Arboretum of South Barrington with its mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Live music and great food add to the experience of this outdoor festival.
