Cubs postseason kickoff celebration: you're invited
Cubs celebrating their 2016 World Series win.

It’s postseason…let the celebration begin

Even if you haven’t scored any postseason tickets to the Cubs playoff games, the Cubs want you to be part of the celebration.

Fans can root for the National League Central Champion Chicago Cubs at the Park at Wrigley when the team plays the Washington Nationals for National League Division Series (NLDS) away games starting Friday, October 6. The Park at Wrigley will show live game broadcasts on the large video board for NLDS Game 1, Game 2, and if necessary, Game 5.

A ticket will be required for the event. Each ticket will cost $10 with net proceeds benefiting Cubs Charities. Fans can purchase a maximum of four tickets. Children age 2-and-under are free. Limited seating will be available on-site.

Park at Wrigley gates will open an hour before the start of the broadcast and will close at the conclusion of the event. Fans can purchase food and beverages, as well as enjoy select giveaways. Event parking is free on a first-come, first-served basis in the Toyota Camry Lot at 1126 W. Grace St. All bags, purses and containers will be inspected prior to entry. Guests also will be checked for prohibited items.

Fans are invited to visit the Park at Wrigley for a pop-up ‘W’ville event right next to Wrigley Field, tomorrow, October 3, from 3-7 p.m.

The celebration will take place in the Park at Wrigley and inside the Lucky Dorr Patio & Tap and the Budweiser Brickhouse Tavern (surrounding the Park) where fans can participate in activities and giveaways, then view the American League Wild Card game on giant flat screens.

Get your free #FlyTheW cardboard posters, stickers, temporary tattoos, rally towels from American Airlines and W stencils provided by Benjamin Moore at the giveaway tent.

Plus CBS Radio Chicago will be hosting a number of giveaway opportunities and games as well.

Fun and games include: An inflatable speed pitch station; an inflatable whiffle ball station; a balloon artist, face painter; glitter temporary tattoo artist; a caricature artist who will provide W-themed drawings of fans and lots more.

Sharpen up on your whiffle ball skills for a chance at free 2017 Cubs postseason tickets at the whiffle ball challenge.

Easy, peasy. Here’s the rules:

Each contestant will get one chance to swing the bat taking aim at a large W Flag target in the lawn area.

Those who hit the ball directly into the cut-out “W” will receive a pair of free tickets to a 2017 postseason game at Wrigley Field.

Fans who hit the target with a fly ball but don’t make it into the “W” will receive a complimentary W Flag or choice from a selection of other available prizes.

And there’s more:

Fashion conscious fans will want to check out the pop-up “W Shop” next to the Cubs Store that will be selling a number of W-themed items, flags and apparel. Plus there’s food trucks.
