If a trip to Arizona is in your future for this February or March, you may want to watch the World Series Championship Chicago Cubs play a spring training game in their relatively new digs (opened 2014) at Sloan Park in Mesa.
The fun (and games) starts Saturday, February 25th with the Cubs hosting a split squad game against the Oakland Athletics at 1:05 p.m.
With all the buzz created by the Cubbies historic win in November you may want to buy your tickets ASAP.
“Spring Training at Sloan Park will be the first chance for Cubs fans to see the 2016 World Series Champions take the field,” said Justin Piper, general manager, Spring Training Business Operations. “We encourage fans to purchase Spring Training tickets early during our on-sale, as we anticipate another record-setting attendance at Sloan Park.”
Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 7th, 11 am, CT to the general public online at www.cubs.com, by phone at 800-THE-CUBS (800-843-2827) or in person at the Sloan Park ticket office at 2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway in Mesa, Arizona from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST.
There is a limit of six tickets per game and a maximum of four games per order.
Fans with Mastercards can get a full day jump on tickets in advance of the general on-sale through the online Mastercard Presale beginning Friday, January 6, at 11 a.m. MST/noon CST through 10:59 p.m. MST/11:59 p.m. CST.
Spring Training game tickets, in advance of the general on-sale, will be sold at a 15 percent premium in excess of face value, while fans using other forms of payment may purchase tickets at a 20 percent premium.
Important Spring Training Dates
The Chicago Cubs have announced their report dates for 2017 Spring Training. Pitchers and catchers are invited to report on Tuesday, February 14 with their first workout taking place on Wednesday, February 15. Position players are invited to report on Friday, February 17 with the first full squad workout on Saturday, February 18.Additionally, the Cubs have added a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Scottsdale on Thursday, March 2 at 7:10 p.m. Arizona time.
All games start at 1:05 p.m. Arizona time unless otherwise noted. Cubs split squad games are denoted with an (ss).
