It’s back. Taste of Chicago returns tomorrow (through July 10) marking the 36th year for this foodie marathon.

The 2016 Taste promises something for all “tastes” with over 200 menu items from 69 of Chicago’s favorite restaurants like Fat Rice; MAD Social and Pork & Mindy’s (click here for more).

Twenty new restaurants have been added for 2016 including two new food trucks.

Another red-hot Taste happening is the Chicago Celebrity Chef du Jour. This evening program features superstar celebrity chefs –the likes of Graham Elliot and Kevin Hickey–cooking up gourmet sit-down dishes that are served in an air-conditioned tent near Buckingham Fountain for $45 per person. (the chef line-up is listed at the bottom of this post).

Other activities include cooking demos, an eclectic line-up of live music and a full schedule of “Food for Thought” podcasts that will held in a new location on the south side of Buckingham Fountain Plaza.

As always, entrance to the “World’s Large Food Fest” is free.

Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase at the festival with strips of 12 tickets selling for $8.50 (including $2.50 charge for Taste amenities). Smaller “Taste of Portions” are available at each food vendor and are between 1-5 tickets..Taste Map 2016 (Updated as of 06.15.16 v2) DRAFT copy
